Ned and the Giant Goldfish

Here's Ned. I was cleaning out the tank, and had already cleaned out the water, cleaned the stones [that takes forever... anyone know of a good way to do that?], put the stones back in, cleaned the items that were in the tank, and then put some clean water in. I was letting Ned roam around my room for a while, but we was getting near some computer things, and would certainly have tried to eat them had I not gotten a hold of him. I had already put the fish in a while back to let it try to adjust to the temperature of the water.. but I had a good idea what was going to happen soon anyway....

While I'm cleaning the tank, the fish was put in a small bowl with some of the old water... I've cleaned the tank enough times to know what happens.. The fish start to freak out after a while.. and the temperature of the water drops quite a bit... and depending on how long it takes to clean the thing, and how quickly I reintroduce the fish into the cleaned tank, the fish either spaz out when they get put back in the tank, and swim super fast for a long time, then just crash, and die, or they go really, really slow, and go around in circles for a while. If they spaz out, they're gonna be dead in no time, no matter what. If they're going slow, then given enough time to just swim, they go back to normal. If this was a tank for fish, I'd care more about their heath, but this is for Ned, and those fish are food.... In this clip you can see the fish is in the slow, circling phase... problem is, I put Ned back in there...

Ned got a pretty good nip in there, and the fish managed to get away, and is now hiding up by the filter. Keep in mind, Ned is a little tired from a long swim in my bathtub, followed by a decent amount of time spent exploring my room. Also, ned is very lazy, and pretty stupid. He spent the first 5 minutes after being put back in the tank eating the stones... Now he's starting to be a bit more active, and is checking the place out.

The fish foolishly returns to the center of the tank, and Ned gets another Nip in. The fish is not doing well at this point.. and its swimming becomes erratic

This is the fishes final mistake. It went back to doing laps, and got Ned's attention.. then ran out of energy, and just sank to the bottom... Ned approaches...

Ned got a hold of it's tail, and it's over. Ned doesn't let go of that thing until the entire tail has been ripped off. Ned's killer instincts are on full display here.

With the tail completely ripped off, and mostly swallowed, Ned finally lets go.. and begins attacking the main body.

The fish has been defeated, and Ned takes a break to celebrate.

Here's your winner... With the attack over, I quickly put the shelves and decorations back into the tank.

And with me out of the way, Ned goes back to feasting.. here's where it gets kidna disgusting... Fish have lots of intestines...

Ned has some decent claws, and does a good job of ripping the fish to pieces with his hands.

Ned managed to eat that entire fish in less than 5 minutes (from tail capture to no trace of fish) I was proud, horrified, impressed, and disgusted.

The fact that I had just spent a few hours cleaning a tank that Ned managed to foul up in 10 minutes was less impressive...

I built this stone turtle out of a fiew pieces, and put it in the tank.. Ned took a few hours to destroy it.

After Ned toasted the Turtle Rock, he finally started trying to sun himself!
