I had surgery to reconstruct my ACL, which I tore up during the last softball game of the season.
This is the leg restraint I was given in the ER. It did not bend at all.
this is the second brace I got.. This one was a perscription from my first doctor/specialist that I visited after the accident.
Here's my knee before the surgery. Most of the scars from the softball season have faded away.. The constantly reopened slide wound just below the kneecap is still a bit pink.
here I am right after surgery. I am still on drugs, and way out of it. You can see the Polar Care ice box thing in blue, and the pain pump by my hip in black.
This is the pain pump that was in my leg. Pulling it out was... an experience.
here's the 3rd brace. I got this after surgery. It's pretty slick.. It goes from High thigh to pretty much my ankle. It's got a hinge that can be locked or set to specific angles or ranges. and velcros open and shut. And it's black, so i'm a fan.
So there's my knee a few days after surgery. You can see the holes where they poked in, and the small mark higher up the thigh where the pain pump line went in.
Here's a shot of my knee about a week after surgery. As you can see, there are just two small holes on either side of the kneecap, and one below. The swelling has gone down a ton as well.
