My Trip to the UK and Ireland, Day 9

We woke up early to head off to the Ferry, to sail over to Wales, to head to Cardiff. We've just arrived at the Ferry port, only to learn it would not be open until 8:30. So we had some time to kill. This is the port.. and it is currently very windy, and I'm very cold.

Here's a look in the other direction. It was a nice little town.

This is one of my favorite pictures [probably the favorite] from the trip. Joel took this picture as he and I waited for the Ferry place to open, and Robb was off seeing the small town. It was very cold, and I was freezing, and huddled over for warmth. In the background you can see a man [Morris] waiting as well. I really like this picture.

This guy with us is Morris. Wow.. he was an interesting guy. He was waiting for the ferry as well, and we all learned at about the same time that the first ferry didn't leave til around 11 or 12... So we ended up having a pretty good breakfast with him, and sat by him on the Ferry, and he tagged along with us half way to Cardiff as well. The story of Morris is an entertaining one...

That's what the ferry we rode on looks like.. only it was a bit bigger, and in the water.

We are now leaving Dublin in the Ferry.

Morris showed up at our table (he left when we went shopping after breakfast, and said he'd see us at the ferry, but we did not see him in the station at all...) Anyway, he showed up with a beer, and quick drank it, then asked if Joel and I wanted one. This is the beer he bought me, and it was wonderful.

Flash forward quite a bit. We made if off the ferry, and on to the train (where Morris was horrified to learn he was not supposed to smoke... though he managed to find his way around that rule.) We made it to our stop where we had to switch trains for Cardiff, and Morris took off, never to be seen by us again. here we have Robb looking at what train we're supposed to board.

We're on the train now, and Robb appears to be slipping into a coma.

The scenery continued to be beautiful. Very green, with blue skies.

Here's what our table often looked like: Joel and his Archos [Music player], me with my keyboard and PDA (for my journals.. I'm currently writing out one of Morris' jokes) and Robb often had out one of his travel books, looking up information for our next days' adventures.

I'm a big fan of bright green hills and bright blue skies.

In the distance we see the mountain... Beauty.

And again, I took many pictures, hoping one would look nice.

At some point, you begin to realize that they all look very similar, cause it's pictures of the same thing.

This shot I liked: A town in Wales, with the red and grey and white houses everywhere.

We're now in Cardiff. We'd be staying here for the night. The streets were filled with young people set to go clubbing. Many were dressed in pretty "trashy" clothing.

There's something down the alley near where we stayed. It's kinda tall, and looked nice.

Here's Cardiff Castle. We'd be visiting it tomorrow.

I took a number of pictures of girls walking around town.. but got rid of most of them by the trips end. Most were very blurry, as I didn't want to make it completely obvious that I was just taking pictures of the girls... But I wanted to document the whole "everywhere you looked there were girls in clubbing clothes" thing.. yeah, that's it. Anyway, this one made it through, and it's not that good, but anyway. This girl was handing out flyers for a bar.

This is our hotel. It was really nice.

Here's Robb trying to get the key to work. After much time spent trying to get it to work, it was discovered that we were room 9, not room 6. Quality.

This is our room. It was nice. And it had a TV!

Here's the other side of our room... We got free coffee.

We started walking around Cardiff.. So the next few pictures are just random things that caught my attention.

This, for example, was tall, and had a clock on it.

This was on a dumpster. It took 10 pictures for one to turn out right.

I believe this is by city hall, but I may be mistaken.

I took this shot of a map that was posted, in case we got lost. We did indeed use it at one point.

Okay.. in the center of that circle in the distance, whith was surrounded by tall standing stones was a group of people, dressed in black, that Joel and I quickly decided was a coven. I tried to get a picture without them noticing... thus the blurring..

Then I'm fairly certain the coven cast some sort of spell, because the next few shots turned out like this.

That's some crazy spell...

After we left the park I just turned around and took the picture. So you can kinda see what I'm talking about with this one.

Here's some monument thing.. it was kewl looking, but I don't remember what it was for now. it was in a park...
