My Trip to the UK and Ireland, Day 11

Alrighty. We got up early and headed off to Salisbury, and then hopped onto this bus.

The bus brought us here.

This.... is Stonehenge.

There were many people in line, but it wasn't horribly crowded or anything. There's small fences up to keep you from just running up and touching the thing.

I took many, many pictures like this.

See everyone holding the thing up to there ear? [like Joel in the orange in the ceter there] ? With the price of admission you got a headset thinger that had an audio tour on it.. you'd press a certain number when you walked up to each spot [the spot was marked with the number] and it'd explain what you were looking at, etc..

Joel and I hung out at this corner and took a bajillion pictures each, trying to get a good shot of Stonehenge and ourselves... Joel got a really nice picture of Stonehenge that I think looks like a Movie poster or something.

They crank Spinal Tap's "Stone Henge" on a constant loop from these giant speakers off to the left and right of the stones. It's really sweet...
Oh wait.. they don't do that....my bad.

The weather was p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

After we walked around the thing and listened to the audio tour, we crashed on the lawn, and just kinda relaxed for a while. It was excellent.

Here we are, Joel, Ron, and Robb, at Stonehenge. Props to the dude from Texas who took our picture, and failed to mention that we were blocking the stones...

We found a URC church in Salisbury!

Inside the church a choir was practicing... You can see the director in that thinger to the right. He was... kinda strict... but funny.

We are now in Oxford. there are bikes everywhere.

We stopped in this building... and the next few hours were a blur.
or not.

So we walked around Oxford, looking at the buildings and having high level conversations about a wide variety of subjects.. so that in future conversations we could say something like "I recall a conversation about this when I was at Oxford...".

More impressive looking Oxford buildings. While we were walking around, the streets emptied.. as France was playing England in the Euro 2004 football thinger.

We had the BEST meal ever that night. and capped it off with giant ice cream sundaes. Seriously Top Notch..

These "Arrrrgh.. I've pulled" ads were everywhere. I wish they weren't.. They still dont' make complete sense to me.
