The Balloon Incident

This is Robbs room. Swac and I (mostly Swac) have pruchased and blown up a number of balloons, and put them in the room. I figured at this rate we'd need about 500-600 balloons to fill the room. We also realized fairly quickly that the smaller balloons suck. The basic idea was : A prank that's not harmful or destructive, yet funny for one reason or another. I had a few other ideas, but they were all a bit more pricey, and would involve firey explosions.

We've begun to make some progress, and we've aquired some better balloons.... a few hundred better balloons.

Mandace came over, and started helping us out as well. Here's an aside: I'm terrified of balloons. Them popping scares the crap out of me. It's just so loud, and unexpected. It was nerve-wrecking.

We made quite a bit of progress that afternoon, I thought. But it starts to make you realize just how many balloons it would take to fill the whole room up. [the answer: Way too many.

That evening, My cousins Steve [Sven], Mindy, Becky, and Julie came over, and we filled balloons while watching "Big Trouble". They did an amazing job. [Insert lame joke about "hot air" here] zing.

The room is starting to look "full of balloons" at this point. At least the back of the room is. We've already accepted the fact that it's not going to be filled to the ceiling... but I was still looking forward to seeing just how full we could get it.

Swac was busy finishing up a bag of balloons as well.

They had only been over for a few minutes, and already they were blazing along. Just goes to show that cheap [free] labor is the best kind of labor.

Soon, it was a full time job just carrying balloons up stairs to Robb's room, trying to keep up with them.

The room is starting to look pretty impressive [I think] at this point.

At this point, we have run out of balloons. Nevertheless, I think you can adequately say that the room is "filled with balloons".

Seriously, that's a lot of balloons.

When I returned from my trip, I found the balloons relocated. According to Robb, he was impressed with our effort.
